Simply put, omelettes are a delicious way to load up on eggs for a tasty breakfast, brunch or lunch.

You can add your favourite vegetables, meats, cheeses, and even sauces to omelettes.

However, for those who have never made one before, they can be a bit intimidating.

Thankfully, foodies at Primula have shared a tasty, easy and quick cheesy omelette recipe “packed full of flavour” that makes the “perfect breakfast, brunch or lunch”.

This method removes the excess need for stirring you’ll find on some recipes, and simplifies it down to just a few easy steps that can be done in less than five minutes.

  • One tube of Primula’s new Signature Blend Mature Cheddar
  • Three eggs
  • Salt
  • Black pepper
  • One teaspoon sunflower oil
  • One teaspoon butter

1. First get yourself a bowl and beat together the three eggs. Once beaten, season the eggs with the salt and ground pepper.

2. The next step is to heat the sunflower oil and butter in a non-stick pan on medium heat until the butter has melted. After the butter has melted, add the beaten eggs to the pan.

3. Slowly tilt the pan from side to side until the eggs cover the surface of the pan completely.

Let the mixture cook for about 20 seconds then scrape a line through the middle with a spatula.

4. Tilt the pan again to allow it to fill back up with the runny egg. Repeat once or twice more until the egg has just set.

5. The final step is to fill the omelette with ingredients of your choice, such as red onion, spinach and a generous amount of cheese. Fold gently in half with a spatula.

You’ll find that half a cup of filling works perfectly with a three-egg omelette. Anything more than that and you’ll struggle to fold the other half of the omelette over.

All that’s left to do next is serve the omelette with a salad and another squeeze of Primula Mature Cheddar.
